How Is Iodine 125 Particle Clinical Therapeutic Effect?

Clinical application has proved that it has positive effect on prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer and so on, which is manifested as tumor tissue shrinkage, reduction of metastasis and recurrence, and improvement of survival rate. Especially in prostate cancer has been applied for nearly 30 years, 2 ~ 5 years of local tumor control rate can reach 83 ~ 100%, slightly higher than radiotherapy.

In recent years, iodine-125 particle implantation therapy has been gradually applied in the treatment of bone metastatic cancer, with an analgesic effective rate of more than 92%, and it is helpful to reduce the focus of bone metastatic cancer. It is mainly applied in the stubborn bone metastatic lesions where zoledronic acid is ineffective.
