Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is a safe and accurate procedure used to establish the pathological diagnosis of various in vivo and parenteral target lesions. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5] To distinguish malignant from benign lesions, cytological or histological evaluation of small fragments of tissue is sufficient in most cases. However, accurate histological diagnosis of specific tumors or inflammatory diseases, such as malignant lymphoma or autoimmune pancreatitis, requires histological evaluation with extensive core tissue and immunohistochemical studies. [6], [7], [8] Therefore, obtaining large amounts of core tissue, the so-called EUS-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB), is considered to be an important factor in establishing accurate histological diagnosis. Eus-fna with a large-bore 19-gauge needle is recommended to obtain sufficient core tissue for histological analysis. [9] However, there are some technical issues regarding the use of the 19-gauge needle, as its stiffness makes adequate positioning of the scope and manipulation of the needle difficult. Therefore, a thinner needle than a 19-gauge needle is required, with good maneuverability, a large amount of core tissue can be obtained, and fewer needle passes are required.
