7.About the assembly

Assembly is according to certain requirements, with the connecting parts (bolts, nuts, pins or buckles, etc.) to connect and combine the various parts into parts, and then connect and combine the various parts into a vehicle.

Whether the components are combined into components or the components are combined into vehicles, they must meet the requirements of the design drawings in order to achieve the predetermined performance of the components or vehicles.For example, when the transmission is fitted to the clutch housing, the centerline of the transmission input shaft must be aligned with the centerline of the engine crankshaft.This alignment to the center is not in the assembly by the assembly workers (fitter) to adjust, but by the design and manufacturing to ensure.

If you visit a car factory, the most interesting thing is the final assembly line.On this final assembly line, a car rolls off every few minutes.Take China's FAW Jiefang brand truck assembly line as an example.This assembly line is a 165m long transmission chain, the car along with the transmission chain to move to each station and gradually installed into, surrounded by a conveyor catenary to the engine assembly, cab assembly, wheel assembly and other continuous transmission from each workshop to the corresponding station on the total assembly line.

In transmission chain of the starting position of the frame (bottom) is put first, and then driving axle assembly (including leaf spring and wheel) and front axle assembly (including leaf spring, steering knuckle, and hub) installed on the frame, and then install the frame to turn it over to steering gear, air storage tank, and the brake pipe, tank and oil pipe, wire, and wheels, etc.,Finally, the engine assembly (including clutch, transmission and central brake) is installed, the drive shaft is attached, and then the cab and front panel parts are installed.At this point, the car can be rolled off the assembly line.
