Dec 08, 2022

Bone marrow puncture needle is a commonly used means of examination in the department of hematology. Generally, the sites of bone marrow puncture are the anterior superior iliac spine, posterior superior iliac spine and sternum. The specific procedure is to determine the puncture site, disinfect it with iodine and alcohol, and then spread sterile hole towel. Local anesthesia was administered with 2% lidocaine, from subcutaneous to periosteum. The No.16 bone piercing needle was slowly and vertically inserted along the puncture point. When the puncture reached the periosteum, the needle was gradually inserted. When there was a sense of frustration, it indicated that the needle had entered the marrow cavity. Then connect a 20mL syringe to the puncture needle, extract 0.2mL of bone marrow fluid, and send the bone marrow fluid smear to the laboratory for testing. After the puncture, the puncture needle was pulled out and fixed locally with sterile gauze, which is the whole process of bone marrow puncture.
