General procedures for biopsy needle examination:

Nov 14, 2022

The histopathological diagnosis process of biopsy is generally as follows: visual observation of the specimens submitted for examination → sampling →(fixation, embedding)→ preparation of thin sections → hematoxylin - eosin (HE) staining → observation under an optical microscope. Through the analysis and recognition of pathological tissue and cell morphology, combined with gross observation and clinical data, the diagnosis of various diseases was made.

However, for some difficult and rare cases, it is still necessary to make auxiliary diagnosis through the techniques of histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy or molecular biology on the basis of the above routine examination.
