Don't the cells on the tissue die after the biopsy tissue is frozen?

Apr 11, 2022

Cells in biopsy tissue will not die after cryopreservation

There are many dead cells in the cryopreserved cell recovery. If the dead cells are removed, the culture medium can be poured out for one day, and the adherent cells are alive.

During the cell recovery operation, it should be noted that the thawing and cryopreservation cells should be thawed quickly, and the ampoule or cryovial can be shaken from time to time to make it pass through the most vulnerable temperature range (-5~0℃) as soon as possible. The recovered cryopreserved cells have high survival rate, good growth and morphology. However, because cryopreserved cells are also affected by other factors, sometimes some cells die. At this time, the cells that do not adhere to the wall and are floating on the culture medium (dead) can be gently poured out, and then supplemented with an appropriate amount of new culture medium, and satisfactory results can also be obtained.
