Temperature sensor flat closed tube selection is mainly based on the measurement range. Platinum resistance sensors are used when the measurement range is expected to be within the total range. Narrower ranges generally require that the sensor must have a fairly high base resistance in order to obtain a sufficiently large resistance change. Thermistors provide sufficient resistance variation to make these sensors ideal for narrow measuring ranges. If the measurement range is quite large, thermocouple is more suitable. It is better to include freezing point in this range, because thermocouple indexing meter is based on this temperature reference. Sensor linearity in known range is also optional sensor additional conditions.
