What Does Pthc Mean in English?

Dec 12, 2022

English pthc is percutaneous transhepatobiliary angiography.

Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTHC or PTC) or percutaneous cholangiography is used to visualize the anatomy of the biliary tract using radiographic techniques. The contrast agent is injected into the bile ducts of the liver and X-rays are taken.

The causes of abdominal hemorrhage during PTCD are rupture of liver capsule during puncture, large damaged blood vessels and poor coagulation mechanism. General hemostasis methods are effective, and angiography and embolization are performed when necessary. For this reason, vitamin K1 should be injected intramuscularly before surgery, puncture with fine needle as far as possible, and continue to use hemostatic drugs for 3 days after surgery.
