Lower Extremity Nerve Block Anesthesia Method
Dec 02, 2022
The nerves in the lower limbs come from the lumbar plexus and the sacral plexus. Lower limb nerve block anesthesia is suitable for hip, knee, ankle, foot and other parts of the operation, especially the elderly and frail patients, because of spinal injury patients difficult to perform spinal anesthesia, and patients with cardiopulmonary disease or lung infection.
Lower extremity nerve block anesthesia mainly used lumbar plexus and sciatic nerve block. The "three-in-one block" of femoral nerve, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve and obturator nerve is used, which is suitable for many surgeries involving thigh and knee. Sciatic nerve block is widely used in hip, knee, or distal lower extremity surgery.
