Fine needle aspiration cytopathology is a method of pathological diagnosis, which uses microinjury technology to extract a certain number of cells from the lesion site through 5-gauge syringe and needle puncture for analysis, so as to provide a reference for clinical diagnosis. This technique is generally convenient and safe, but because it is a minimally invasive procedure that requires biopsy and cell extraction from the lesion site, there are inevitably some risks and complications, including (but not limited to) :

① Neurogenic shock (commonly known as needle sickness)

② Bleeding at or around the puncture site caused by vascular injury

③ Nerve injury and unexpected injury

④ According to the situation, it is sometimes necessary to re-puncture or multi-point puncture

⑤ Slight pain at the puncture site; Different from excision biopsy, this examination has certain limitations. Puncture may deviate from the lesion site in the mass, resulting in examination results that cannot objectively reflect pathological changes. Therefore, the results are only for clinical reference
