Is Pulmonary Nodular Puncture Biopsy Needle Accurate
Nov 09, 2022
Puncture biopsy is a long and thin needle in the doctor's hand, which can be punctured to the part of the lung mass under CT or ultrasound positioning, and some internal tissues of the tumor can be obtained for pathological detection. Different from puncture biopsy of other organs, the lung is an organ that is constantly moving due to breathing. During the process of breathing, the lung tissues rise and fall, and the tumor also rises and falls accordingly. The position is not fixed, so not every puncture can penetrate into the tissue inside the tumor. Some patients cannot be completely diagnosed due to the location and morphology of the lesions, and the accuracy rate of puncture biopsy is about 80%-90%. Puncture biopsy has certain risks: pneumothorax, bleeding, infection, etc. Other problems to be considered in biopsy include: the lack of detection of cancer cells cannot completely exclude lung cancer, which may lead to delayed disease; If the nodules are malignant, puncture may cause potential risk of implantation metastasis
