Nov 29, 2022

Local anesthesia is used for lung puncture. There is slight pain during local anesthesia, which is similar to normal intramuscular injection or subcutaneous injection of insulin. Most of the patients will not have obvious pain when the puncture needle is used after local anesthesia. A small number of patients are more sensitive to pain, or the pain threshold is relatively low, may have some discomfort, but will not produce severe pain; Individual patients will have a pleural response, which is a pleural response to external stimuli. Such patients are mainly manifested as vegetative nerve reaction, patients will feel a sense of sweating, palpitation, but not pain.

Patients may also pay attention to whether there is pain after the time of local anesthetics, that is, 45 minutes. In general, when the puncture needle is pulled out of the body during lung puncture, there will be no subsequent pain reaction. Some patients with really low pain threshold will have chest discomfort, and appropriate analgesic drugs can be given within 24 hours after puncture. After 24 hours, the pain will completely disappear and the patient will not feel any discomfort.
