Instructions For Use Of Epidural Needles

1. Insert the round tip of the catheter into the epidural space through the catheter. The epidural needle has been placed by "hanging" "Descent" or "loss of resistance" method.

2. Hold the epidural, insert and slowly advance the catheter needle into place.

3. While keeping the catheter in place, withdraw and completely remove the epidural needle.

4. Insert the other end of the catheter and push it into the sheath until the window in the marked hub on the tip of the catheter can be clearly seen through the catheter.

5. Hold the sheath and winged hub, fix the catheter in place and gently tighten the hub clockwise until the catheter is firmly tightened.

6. Fix the protruding part of the catheter to the patient.

7. Remove the cap on the end of the hub and administer the anesthetic drug.
