(4) Intravenous injection of animal needle

Intravenous injection is a slow injection of the liquid medicine into the vein with a syringe within 20 ~ 30 minutes. It is often used in patients with acute illness to achieve rapid curative effect. Animal serum products (e.g., tetanus antitoxin) can be injected intravenously into the median vein (elbow), great saphenous vein (inner thigh), jugular vein and scalp vein (mostly used in children) (Figure 2). It is appropriate to choose straight, thick, non-sliding, easy to fix the vein, the need for long-term intravenous injection should choose small vessels (back of the hand, back of the foot, superficial vein). It can also be injected into the vein with contrast agents, such as meglumine, eudimension, etc., to perform cholecystography, pyelography, spinal venous angiography, brain digital imaging, etc. During echocardiography, an acoustic contrast agent (e.g., hydrogen peroxide-sodium bicarbonate-acetic acid mixture) can be injected intravenously to make the blood contain tiny bubbles for contrast. Intravenous injection requires strict aseptic technique. The solution for injection must be a transparent aqueous solution, not pyrogenic, and not lower than blood after penetration. The common accidents of intravenous injection are that the needle is inserted at too straight an Angle or with too much force and the blood vessel is punctured; Or the needle tip into the blood vessel part is too little, when the tourniquet is released, the needle tip comes out, and the liquid medicine is injected subcutis; Then the local pain swelling.
