Three, animal needle dog intravenous injection

A subcutaneous vein in the forearm: This is the most common injection site in dogs. This vein is located just medial to the front of the wrist joint of the forelimb. The dog can lie on its side, on its back, or standing. One person can hold the elbow from the back of the dog to pull the skin up and open the veins. A tourniquet can also be used to tie the veins. The person giving the injection is located in front of the dog, and the injection needle is inserted into the vein from a third of the proximal wrist joint. When the needle is determined to be in the blood vessel, blood is returned to the needle connecting tube, and the needle is inserted into the vein to prevent the needle from slipping out of the blood vessel when the dog is shaken. By releasing the tourniquet or latex tube, the fluid can be injected and the rate of infusion can be adjusted. When administering intravenous fluids, tape can be wrapped around the needle to hold it in place. During the infusion, try to draw back blood if necessary to see if the needle is still in the vessel. After the injection, press the needle eye with a dry cotton ball, pull out the needle quickly, and apply local pressure for a moment to prevent bleeding.
