Hepatocentesis is short for liver biopsy. Patients are usually under local anesthesia, and transcutaneous puncture is performed under the positioning and guidance of B-ultrasound, CT, or direct puncture under the supervision of a laparoscope using a negative pressure suction one-second puncture technique. The liver specimens are usually about 10 ~ 25 mg obtained by puncture. After treatment, the liver tissues and cells are stained by histopathology and immunohistochemistry to observe the morphology of liver tissues and cells under a microscope. Liver puncture pathological examination is mainly used in the differential diagnosis of various liver diseases, such as identifying the nature and causes of jaundice, understanding the degree and activity of liver lesions, providing the basis for the etiological diagnosis of various types of viral hepatitis, discovering cirrhosis in early, quiescent or compensated stage, and discriminating clinical efficacy.
