Its use must be based on treatment protocols, laboratory standards and most importantly after discussion with medical and surgical oncologists at a given institution.
In conclusion, the Franseen biopsy needle enables acquisition of true histological core tissue under EUS guidance more successfully than the standard FNA needle. This development is likely to further advance the role of EUS in the oncological management of patients.
