EUS FNA Needle

The EUS FNA Needle (Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Fine Needle Aspiration Needle) is a medical tool used to obtain tissue or cell samples with the guidance of Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS). It is primarily used to diagnose the pathological nature of deep organs or lesions, such as tumors or cysts in areas like the pancreas, gastrointestinal tract, mediastinum, and lymph nodes.

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) combines an endoscope (a tube with a camera) and ultrasound (which creates images of internal organs). This allows doctors to examine and treat organs like the pancreas, liver, and lymph nodes. The procedure provides clear images of the digestive tract and surrounding areas. The FNA needle is inserted through the working channel of the endoscope. Under ultrasound guidance, it is directed through the digestive tract wall to reach the target area for sampling.

Description

General Diagnostic Use

22G to 25G

Thinner needles for better maneuverability and minimal discomfort. Ideal for sampling from the stomach, liver, or pancreas.

Tumor Biopsy

19G to 22G

Thicker needles with cutting edge to handle denser, fibrous tissues like pancreatic tumors or liver masses, ensuring reliable tissue acquisition.

Cyst or Abscess Aspiration

19G to 21G

Needles with a wider lumen to facilitate fluid aspiration from larger cysts or abscesses. Ideal for precise targeting of fluid-filled cavities.

Lymph Node Biopsy

22G to 25G

Thinner needles for fine tissue sampling from small or deep-seated lymph nodes, ensure minimal tissue disruption.

Liver or Other Organ Sampling

19G to 22G

Slightly thicker needles for liver or similar organ biopsies, offering strength to reach deeper tissues and ensuring effective sample collection.

The first step in manufacturing the EUS FNA needle is drawing the stainless steel tubing. The tubing is heat-treated to improve hardness and flexibility, and then drawn to the correct diameter and wall thickness. It is subsequently cut to the required length for the needle. The needle tip is then ground, and laser etching is used to add echo markers to the tip, making it more visible under ultrasound. Finally, the needle undergoes electrolytic polishing to remove microscopic burrs and imperfections, ensuring a smooth and clean surface.

At Manners, we utilize advanced technologies such as sliding headstock lathes, laser etching, and grinding to produce the EUS FNA needle. The tolerance is +/- 0.01 mm. Our factory is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485 certified and equipped with state-of-the-art machines like Citizen L12-1M7 lathes, grinding machines, and 5-axis laser cutters. Each needle is carefully packaged in a PP bag, and custom packaging is available upon request to meet your specific needs.
