Which parts are CNC machining often used in?

CNC machining in the position of CNC equipment is very high, many parts processing enterprises will be applied to the CNC machining center, then CNC processing can process what types of parts? As we all know, CNC machining center is suitable for processing complex, working procedures, higher requirements, need to use a variety of types of ordinary machine tools and many tool fixtures, and after several clamping and adjustment to complete the processing of parts. The main objects of its processing are box parts, complex curved surface, special-shaped parts, plate parts and special processing and other five categories.

1. Box parts.

Box parts generally refer to the parts with more than one hole system, internal cavity, and a certain proportion in the direction of length, width and height. This kind of parts in the machine tool, automobile, aircraft manufacturing and other industries used more. Body parts need to be more commonly location hole and surface processing, the tolerance demand is higher, especially the form tolerance is strict, usually after milling, drilling, expanding, boring, reaming, economic, tapping process, such as need cutting tool is more, on the machine in normal difficulty big, tooling is decreasing, cost is high, the processing cycle is long, need many times the clamping, alignment, manual measurement more, The tool must be replaced frequently during processing, the process is difficult to develop, and more importantly, the accuracy is difficult to ensure. Processing box type parts of the processing center, when the processing station more, the need to rotate the table many times to complete the parts, the general selection of horizontal boring and milling type machining center. When the processing station is less, and the span is not large, the optional vertical machining center, processing from one end. 

2. Complex surfaces.

Complex curved surface plays an important role in machinery manufacturing industry, especially in aerospace industry. It is difficult or even impossible to complete complex surface by ordinary machining method. In our country, the traditional method is to use precision casting, which can be imagined that its accuracy is low. Complex curved parts such as: various impellers, wind turbines, spheres, various curved forming molds, propellers and underwater vehicle thrusters, and some other shapes of free-form surfaces. Typical of the following:

(1) Cam, CAM mechanism.

As a basic component of mechanical information storage and transmission, it is widely used in all kinds of automatic machinery, such parts have all kinds of curved disc CAM, cylindrical CAM, conical CAM, barrel CAM, end CAM, etc. Processing such parts according to the complexity of the CAM selection of three axis, four axis linkage or the selection of five axis linkage machining center.

(2) Integral impeller.

This kind of parts are commonly found in the compressor of aero engine, expansion machine of oxygen making equipment, single screw air compressor, etc., for such a profile, the machining center can be completed by using more than four axis linkage.

(3) mold.

Such as injection mold, rubber mold, vacuum forming blister mold, refrigerator foaming mold, pressure casting mold, precision casting mold, etc. The use of machining center processing mold, due to the highly concentrated process, dynamic mold, static mold and other key parts of the finishing is basically in an installation to complete all the machining content, can reduce the size of the cumulative error, reduce the workload of repair. At the same time, the mold can be duplicated, good interchangeability. Machining residual to the fitter's workload is less, where the tool can be reached, as far as possible by the mechanical processing to complete, so that the mold fitter's workload is mainly in polishing.

(4) Spheres.

It can be milled by machining center. Three-axis milling can only be approximated by ball end milling cutter, which is low in efficiency. Five-axis milling can be approximated by ball end milling cutter as envelope surface. When the complex surface is processed by machining center, the programming workload is large, and most of them should have automatic programming technology.

3. Unusual parts.

The special-shaped parts are the parts with irregular shape, and most of them need the mixed processing of points, lines and surfaces. The rigidity of special-shaped parts is generally poor, the clamping deformation is difficult to control, the processing accuracy is difficult to guarantee, and even some parts of the processing parts with ordinary machine tools is difficult to complete. When processing with processing center, reasonable technological measures should be adopted, one or two times clamping, using the characteristics of multi-station point, line and surface mixed processing of processing center, to complete multiple processes or all the process content.

4. Disk, sleeve and plate parts.

With keyway, or radial hole, or end face with the distribution of holes, curved disc cover or shaft parts, such as flanged sleeve, with keyway or square head of shaft parts, as well as plate parts with more porous processing, such as all kinds of motor cover. Vertical machining center should be selected for disk parts with distributed holes and curved surfaces at the end, and horizontal machining center with radial holes is optional.

5. Special processing.

After mastering the function of the machining center, with certain tooling and special tools, the processing center can be used to complete some special process work, such as engraving, line carving and pattern on the metal surface; High-frequency EDM power supply is installed on the spindle of the machining center, which can carry out line scanning surface quenching on the metal surface. The grinding of small modulus involute bevel gears and various curves and surfaces can be realized by installing high speed grinding head in machining center.
