When a synchronous motor is used as a generator, a magnetic field will be generated in the motor after the excitation winding is connected to the direct current. The relative movement between the magnetic field and the stator wire will induce the AC potential in the stator wire, and the current in the stator wire can be exported by carbon brush.

The type of brush to be replaced by the generator slip ring must be the same as that required by the motor manufacturer, or the same brand of brush that is applicable after test. For some material procurement and supply department experience, inventory management confusion of the unit, often because of cheap price, but poor quality or wrong purchase confusion pile up, ignore the replacement of the brush model and the original is consistent, resulting in equipment can not operate normally and safely.
