What profit does breast puncture needle biopsy have than surgical biopsy?
Dec 09, 2021
There are many diagnostic methods for breast A, including physical examination, mammography, B ultrasound, breast duct endoscopy, etc., but the final diagnosis still depends on pathological diagnosis. Biopsy (referred to as biopsy) is the most commonly used method to obtain preoperative pathological diagnosis. It includes needle biopsy and surgical biopsy. Compared with surgical biopsies, needle biopsies cause less damage to normal tissue, are scarless, require only local anaesthetic and are relatively inexpensive. Most importantly, needle biopsies can save some patients with benign breast lesions from unnecessary surgery. For patients with breast lumps found on physical examination, surgical biopsy and surgical treatment can also be performed at the same time. However, this method is not conducive to making a detailed treatment plan before operation and prolongs the operation time. If preoperative needle biopsy is malignant, it not only provides a basis for further treatment (including surgery and preoperative adjuvant chemotherapy), but also facilitates the discussion between the physician and the patient about surgical treatment, such as whether to take breast sparing surgery.
