Renal puncture is a test for kidney disease.

Renal puncture is also known as renal puncture biopsy. Due to the variety of renal diseases, the etiology and pathogenesis are complex, the clinical manifestations of many renal diseases are not completely consistent with the histological changes of the kidney. This is when a renal puncture is performed.

After urination, the patient undergoing renal puncture lies prone on the examination table. The abdomen is padded with a pillow with a diameter of 10-15cm and a length of 50-6-cm. The kidney is pushed to the back and fixed, the arms are extended forward, and the head is tilted to one side.

Generally, the lower part of the right kidney is selected as the puncture point. The skin on the back is disinfected and sterile towel is spread with the puncture point as the center. Imaging with sterile B-ultrasound puncture probe was performed under local anesthesia with 1-2% lidocaine. A 10cm long intracardiac needle was inserted vertically into the renal capsule from the puncture point, and a small amount of local anesthetic was injected.

The puncture needle was vertically inserted into the renal capsule, and the movement of the upper and lower stages of the kidney with respiration was observed. When the lower pole of the kidney moved to the best position for puncture, the patient was placed out of the breath, and the puncture needle was immediately inserted into the kidney for 2-3cm, then the puncture needle was pulled out and the patient was instructed to breathe normally.

The length of kidney tissue was measured. After more than 5 glomeruli were observed under a dissecting microscope, light microscopy, electron microscopy and immunofluorescence were delivered. If there is no kidney tissue, repeat the above steps. Generally 2-3 times is appropriate.
