When prostate cancer is suspected, it is often necessary to perform a prostate puncture biopsy. During prostate puncture, some complications may occur, causing certain damage to the body, such as bleeding and infection, and care should be taken.
1. Try to get out of bed as little as possible on the day after the puncture. It is generally recommended to rest in bed for 24 hours. It is strictly forbidden to do strenuous waist activities within 3 weeks after the puncture.
2. Blood pressure, pulse, urine color, skin color, waist and abdomen symptoms and signs should be routinely monitored within 6 hours after puncture.
3. The most common complication after prostate puncture is bleeding. Hemostatic drugs can be routinely given. Prophylactic antibiotics may reduce the incidence of infection. Generally, fever, chills, and urinary tract infections can be treated symptomatically.
4. If significant rectal bleeding is found after the puncture, a suitable size vaginal tampon can be lubricated and inserted into the rectum for a few hours.
5. If blood clots appear after puncture, and dizziness, pale face, cold sweats, or persistent high fever, accompanied by perineal pain, may be serious urethral injury, and you need to seek medical attention in time.
