What is stainless steel grade classification and material?

The ordinary stainless steel is divided into three categories: austenitic stainless steel, iron stainless steel, Martensite stainless steel. On the basis of these three basic metallographic structures, duplex steels, precipitate hardened stainless steels and high alloy steels with less than 50% iron content are derived for specific needs and purposes.

1, 304 stainless steel. Austenitic stainless steel is one of the most widely used austenitic stainless steel with a large amount of application, suitable for the manufacture of deep drawing molding parts and acid delivery pipes, containers, structural parts, all kinds of instrument body, etc., also can manufacture non-magnetic, low temperature equipment and components.

2, 304L stainless steel. In order to solve the serious intergranular corrosion tendency of 304 stainless steel due to the precipitation of Cr23C6 under some conditions, the ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel was developed, and its intergranular corrosion resistance of the sensitized state was significantly better than 304 stainless steel. In addition to slightly lower strength, other performance with 321 stainless steel, mainly used for welding and can not be solution treatment of corrosion resistance equipment and parts, can be used to manufacture all kinds of instrument body.

3. 304H stainless steel The internal branch of 304 stainless steel, carbon mass fraction in 0.04%-0.10%, high temperature performance is better than 304 stainless steel.

4. 316 stainless steel. The addition of molybdenum to 10Cr18Ni12 steel makes the steel have good resistance to reducing medium and spot corrosion. In seawater and other various media, corrosion resistance is better than 304 stainless steel, mainly used for pitting resistance materials.

5. 316L stainless steel. Ultra low carbon steel, with good resistance to sensitized state intergranular corrosion, suitable for manufacturing thick section size welding parts and equipment, such as corrosion resistant materials in petrochemical equipment.
