What is a blunt cannula?

A blunt cannula is a small tube with a non-sharp, rounded end specifically designed for atraumatic intradermal injection of fluids, such as injectable fillers. It has ports on the side for more even distribution of product.

Microcannulae, on the other hand, are blunt and made of plastic. This makes them more flexible and less invasive than standard needles.

Unlike needles, they can easily pass through tissue without cutting or tearing blood vessels. This significantly reduces the risk of bleeding and bruising. By removing the blood vessels instead of cutting them, the risk of injecting filler directly into the blood vessels is virtually zero. From a single entry point, the microcannula can precisely deliver filler to areas that require multiple punctures. Fewer injections means less pain, more comfort and less risk of complications.
