The purpose of the disposable intraoperative soft tissue biopsy needle is to:

① To determine the nature of the lesion so as to determine the surgical plan. For an unknown lesion, take the lesion on the operating table and send it for examination. Wait for 20-30 minutes. If the frozen section is diagnosed as inflammatory or benign tumor, the operation scope is very small. If it is malignant, immediate radical resection with extensive excision is performed.

(2) Understand the lesions, especially the growth and spread of malignant tumors, such as the scope and depth of invasion, whether there is lymph node metastasis, and whether there are tumor cells in the surgically removed marginal tissue to determine the scope of surgery.

③ Determine whether the specimen contains predetermined tissues, organs or lesions. If the parathyroid gland is to be removed, but it is not clear in the field, it can be confirmed by frozen biopsy.

The greatest advantage of intraoperative biopsy is that during the operation, lesions of unknown nature can be confirmed, so that the clinical treatment plan can be determined immediately, and the second therapeutic operation can be avoided. The patient can avoid the second operation, and the medical staff can save the labor of another operation. Secondly, it serves as a magnifying glass for surgeons to know how deep and far the lesions invade and whether there are tumor cells at the incisal margin.
