Operation specification of combined lumbar and epidural anesthesia needle

3. Puncture method

Aseptic procedures require the same spinal anesthesia or epidural block. After the successful epidural puncture, a 25G lumbar puncture needle was inserted into the epidural puncture needle to puncture the arachnoid and withdraw the needle core, and cerebrospinal fluid flowed out from the needle. 2-3ml local anesthetic was randomly injected into lumbar anesthesia, and the lumbar puncture needle was withdrawn. The epidural catheter was inserted through the epidural puncture needle (3cm through the needle opening), and the epidural puncture needle was withdrawn. The puncture point was covered with sterile gauze, and the catheter was fixed. Help client turn over and lie supine, measure lumbar anesthesia block level. Local anesthetics were injected into the epidural catheter, and no signs of high level of block were found 5 minutes later, and the operation could be started. During the operation, appropriate amount of local anesthesia was injected through the epidural catheter to maintain anesthesia.

4. Due to the light or heavy local anesthetics injected into the subarachnoid space, it still needs a period of time for epidural operation, which is bound to make one side of the limb block significantly worse than the other side and affect the whole block effect. Therefore, equal specific gravity local anesthetic is often used in combined block of lumbar anesthesia.
