Is medical acupuncture anesthesia the same as nerve block puncture needle
Nov 22, 2022
These are completely different concepts.
Nerve block is a kind of anesthesia widely used in clinic at present. It is a kind of anesthesia method to inject local anesthetics around the nerve trunk, plexus and ganglia to block its impulse conduction and make the innervated area produce anesthetic effect. Common nerve blocks are helpful for interorbital, suborbital, sciatic, finger (toe) nerve stem blocks, cervical plexus and brachial plexus blocks, as well as stellate ganglion and lumbar sympathetic ganglion blocks for diagnosis and treatment.
The so-called "acupuncture anesthesia" is a term from traditional Chinese medicine, which refers to the use of acupuncture or acupuncture combined drugs for analgesia. However, its effectiveness and credibility have been questioned since then, so it is not used in the current clinical anesthesia analgesia.
