Introduction to the main components of brass

1, copper is composed of copper and zinc alloy, composed of copper, zinc brass is called common brass, if it is composed of more than two kinds of elements of a variety of alloys called special brass. (1) The microstructure of the brass containing less than 35% zinc at room temperature is composed of a single phase α solid solution, which is called α brass.

(2) The microstructure of the brass with zinc content in the range of 36% ~ 46% at room temperature is composed of (α+β) two phases, which is called (α+β) brass (two-phase brass).

(3) The microstructure of brass containing more than 46% ~ 50% zinc at room temperature is only composed of β phase, which is called β brass.
