How to treat chest abdominal effusion?

Nov 10, 2022

Pleural effusion, common congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, superior vena cava syndrome, can form a leaky pleural effusion. Exudative pleural effusion can be caused by chest malignancies, tuberculosis, viral infection, fungal infection, systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple myeloma, pulmonary embolism and other diseases. Treatment is different for leaky pleural effusion and exudative pleural effusion. For leaky pleural effusion, the primary disease should be actively treated. After the primary disease is controlled, the effusion usually disappears. Sometimes due to a large amount of effusion, the symptoms are more serious and the treatment effect of the primary disease is not good, and intervention should be performed to relieve the symptoms, such as thoracic closed drainage; Pleurodesis should be performed for refractory pleural effusion. Tuberculous pleural effusion should be treated with active antituberculous chemotherapy, pleural aspiration and adrenocortical hormone. Pneumonia-associated pleural effusion should first be given antibiotics to control the infection and systemic supportive treatment. In addition, the chest closed drainage, keep the drainage unobstructed, support the treatment and promote lung reexpansion.
