cytology refers to the qualitative diagnosis through the histopathological observation of the cells shed, scraped and punctures from the diseased sites of patients. Currently, cytology is mainly applied to the diagnosis of tumors, and can also be used for the diagnosis and diagnosis of some diseases, such as the diagnosis of inflammatory diseases of internal organs and determination of hormone levels.
Cytological specimens can be shed cells from secretion and excreta of genital tract, respiratory tract, digestive tract, urinary tract, etc., shed cells from fluid of chest, abdomen, pericardium, joint cavity and cerebrospinal cavity extracted by puncture, or cells collected by various endoscopic brush smears and prints. Or by fine needle aspiration (FNA) technology (needle diameter 0.6-0.9mm) directly or under the guidance of B ultrasound, X-ray aspiration of the cells in the body of various tissues and organs of the disease, these cells directly or through centrifugal sedimentation and other methods after smear, fixation, staining, observation and diagnosis under a light microscope. Results are usually available within a few hours. The main goal is to determine whether there are tumor cells, and whether they are benign or malignant.
