Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is another minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins in the lower extremities. It is an operation for the treatment of superficial veins, which cannot treat deep vein thrombosis. Only the deep vein is unobstructed can the superficial vein operation be performed.

DVT is usually treated with anticoagulant therapy and thrombolytic therapy, as well as physical therapy and endovascular intervention, without radiofrequency ablation.
