Can bone puncture rule out lymphoma?

Apr 27, 2022

This question cannot be generalized.

The diagnosis of lymphoma requires a biopsy and a pathology report, so after the bone marrow biopsy, the pathology of the bone marrow biopsy is normal, but it shows that the (lymphoma) has not invaded the bone marrow. If the lymphoma does not involve the bone marrow, the bone marrow will be normal.

However, normal bone marrow does not necessarily rule out lymphoma. Lymphoma cannot be diagnosed by bone puncture alone, but it must be combined with some other tests, the most important being the biopsy of lymph nodes. The pathological diagnosis is the gold standard for lymphoma (diagnosis).
