People take advantage of titanium in high temperature ability of strong characteristics, in steel making, nitrogen is easy to dissolve in the molten steel, when the steel ingot cooling, the formation of bubbles in the steel, affecting the quality of steel. So the steelmaker adds titanium metal to the molten steel and combines it with nitrogen to form slag, titanium nitride, which floats on the surface of the molten steel so that the ingot is more pure.
When a supersonic plane flies, the temperature of its wings can reach 500℃. If the wing is made of a relatively heat resistant aluminum alloy, one to two to three hundred degrees will not be enough, and a light, tough, and high temperature resistant material to replace aluminum alloy ethyl titanium is just enough to meet these requirements. Titanium can also withstand temperatures of more than 100 degrees below zero, where it still has good toughness without becoming brittle.
