For patients with mild degeneration of knee cartilage or with meniscus injury, arthroscopic surgery can be considered to remove intraarticular inflammatory factors and delay joint degeneration by planing hyperplastic synovium, grinding osteophyte, articular cartilage shaping, meniscus dressing, free body removal and other means.

If the knee varus or valgus is obvious and the articular cartilage has a severe unilateral compartment degeneration, the high tibia osteotomy can be selected to adjust the lower limb force line, balance the knee bearing, prolong the service life of the knee, and postpone or avoid total knee replacement.

If joint degeneration is limited to one of the three compartments that make up the knee joint, single-compartment knee replacement may be an option. The operation time is short, the trauma is small, the recovery is fast, and the bone volume can be preserved, which leaves room for the knee revision operation in the future.
