Roughness of turning parts surface definition: roughness of turning parts surface is the smoothness of parts, the smoothness of general turning parts is usually 6.3um, the highest is 1.6um, more than that, ordinary turning has been powerless.

Surface roughness of turning parts refers to the small spacing and the unflatness of small peaks and valleys on turning surfaces. The distance (wave distance) between two wave peaks or two wave troughs is very small (less than 1mm), which belongs to the microscopic geometry error. The smaller the surface roughness, the smoother the surface.

The working principle of

The workpiece rotates and the turning tool moves in a straight line or curve in the plane. Turning is generally carried out on a lathe to process the internal and external cylindrical surface, end surface, conical surface, forming surface and thread of the workpiece.

When turning the inner and outer cylinder, the turning tool moves in the direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the workpiece. When turning the end face or cutting the workpiece, the turning tool moves horizontally in the direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the workpiece. If the trajectory of the turning tool and the workpiece rotation axis of an oblique Angle, can be processed into a conical surface. The turning surface of the rotary body can be shaped by tool method or tool tip track method.
