Cast aluminum

Casting aluminum is a process method that molten aluminum is poured into the mold and cooled to form the desired shape aluminum parts. The castings obtained by casting aluminum are called cast aluminum parts.

In the process of casting, aluminum castings are prone to internal defects such as porosity, shrinkage and porosity. After machining, the surface dense layer components of these castings with defects are removed and the internal tissue defects are exposed. For auto cast aluminum with sealing requirements, such as cylinder block, cylinder head, intake manifold, brake valve, etc., when the pressure seal test, the existence of defects microporous will lead to the leakage of sealing medium caused a large amount of waste, and these defects are often machining, could be detected by the pressure test after causing serious wave of working hours, materials and energy.

In order to solve the problem of high scrap rate of automobile aluminum castings and save the castings that may be scrapped due to the above defects, certain treatment measures should be taken in production. At present, the most common technology used is infiltration treatment, that is, plugging. The so-called "infiltration", is under certain conditions the infiltration agent into the micro-pores of the cast aluminum, after curing, the infiltration of the pores of the filler and the inner wall of the pores of the casting into one, blocking the micro-pores, so that the parts can meet the pressure, seepage and leakage and other conditions of the technology.
