Pipe cutting is the process of cutting a pipe to a length to prepare it for another application or process. Pipe end forming applications have a variety of pipe cutting methods. Band saws and cold saws are the most commonly used, but they often leave chips, burrs, and other defects that can affect pipe end molding. For high volume production, using the rotary end forming equipment of the cutting tool is a practical option because it reduces the need for deburring operations after cutting the pipe. This cutting process also provides a clean square cut compared to a cold saw or band saw.
