Tube forming process
Damaged piping and fluid lines should be replaced with new parts whenever possible. Sometimes replacement is impractical and repairs are needed. Scratches, scrapes and minor corrosion on the outside of the fluid line are negligible and can be smoothed using a polishing tool or aluminum wool. The limits on the amount of damage repaired in this way are discussed later in this chapter in the section entitled "Metal Pipeline Repair." If fluid line assemblies are to be replaced, they can usually be recycled. Then the maintenance will only involve the forming and replacement of the pipe. Tube forming consists of four processes :(1) cutting, (2) bending, (3) flaring, and (4) ball bearing.
