Why Is Aluminum A Flying Metal?

The density of aluminum is low (2.7g/cm³). There is a dense Al₂O₃ thin film on the surface to prevent the inner aluminum from reacting and to resist oxidation. It is commonly used in aircraft materials, modern aircraft are 70% aluminum and aluminum alloy manufacturing, so it is called flying metal.
