Epidural puncture can be performed in the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral Spaces. Local anesthetics are injected into the epidural space to block the conduction function of some spinal nerves. The breakthrough sensation when the descending needle tip passes through the ligamentum flavum, and the dura mater cannot be punctured.
Anatomy: Skin, subcutaneous tissue, supraspinous ligament, interspinous ligament, ligamentum flavum.
