A splenic puncture is a routine examination, not an operation.
In general, the cause of spleen enlargement is unknown, and spleen puncture and splenectomy biopsy can be performed for definite diagnosis. Since spleen puncture is easy to cause bleeding, anesthesia can be considered.
Only a subset of patients with splenomegaly require surgery.
If it is not serious, there is no need for hospitalization.
