A needle biopsy of the prostate is a traumatic biopsy performed to confirm disease of the prostate tissue.
During the operation, a thin needle is inserted into the prostate gland to extract thin strips of prostate tissue. Its material is more accurate, accuracy, high positive rate of biopsy, so the application is increasing.
A needle biopsy of the prostate is performed when:
1. Determine the nature of the prostate mass;
2. To determine the histological type of the prostate tumor in order to determine the treatment plan;
3. To evaluate the effect of prostate cancer treatment;
4. For patients with elevated serum PS, clinical symptoms and digital rectal examination are suspected to be prostate cancer.
