A cervical biopsy is the hijack of the cervix, a small piece or pieces of tissue are taken from the cervix for pathological examination to determine the diagnosis. It is often used in the cervix with suspected cancer, or the cervical scrape with suspected cancer cells, or suspected specific inflammation, such as cervical tuberculosis. A cervical biopsy can confirm the diagnosis and determine treatment. Cervical biopsy is the most reliable diagnosis of cervical cancer. In both early and advanced cervical cancer, this test is necessary to determine the pathological type and degree of cell differentiation of the cancer.

The cervical biopsy is simple. After disinfection of vulva, vagina and cervix, several small pieces of tissue were taken with a special biopsy forceps according to the lesion site and requirements, fixed in 10% formalin solution, sent to the pathology department for section, staining, observation and analysis under the microscope, and then pathological diagnosis was made.
