Matters needing attention

(1) The site of sampling should be accurate, and necrotic tissue or obvious secondary infection area should be avoided. Sampling at the junction of the lesion and normal tissue should be taken, and a small amount of the diseased tissue and surrounding normal tissue should be taken. Generally, the size of the diseased tissue should be 1.5cm×1.5cm×0.2cm.

(2) Sampling should be performed at a certain depth, which should be perpendicular to the depth of the lesion. Gastric mucosal biopsy should include the muscularis mucosa.
