OEM Customization Of Manners Technology Arthroscopic Serrated Shavers
Jul 13, 2026
An increasing number of medical device brand owners wish to launch their own private-label (OEM/White Label) shaver lines compatible with major arthroscopy consoles. Manners Technology, with deep expertise in precision medical metal processing, offers end-to-end customization of Arthroscopy Sharp-toothed Shaver Blades-from tooth form design and bend angle to tubing specs, handpiece interface, and color coding.
Tooth Profile Customization: Manners Technology can adjust pitch, depth, rake/relief angle, and tip width per clinical feedback. Standard serrated shavers use symmetrical triangular or trapezoidal teeth with 0.3–0.8mm spacing; more aggressive soft tissue removal calls for higher teeth and sharper tips; cartilage trimming benefits from shallower teeth to prevent over-penetration. Double-serrated (both inner & outer tube) options are also available per drawing.
Curve Angle & Diameter: Standard straights in Φ4.0/4.5/5.5/6.0mm; curved 10°/15°/20°/30° (non-standard customizable). Bend start distance from tip typically 8–17mm to match portal depth. Small diameters (Φ3.5mm) suit wrist, elbow, ankle.
Handpiece Interface (Drive Coupling): Manners Technology can machine connection features (spline/hex/slot) per Conmed, Stryker, Smith & Nephew, Linvatec, etc., ensuring physical and locking compatibility with existing hospital consoles/handles. Dimensions must strictly follow reverse-engineered OEM or customer-approved drawings.
Marking & Molded Parts: Proximal plastic molded parts (ID ring, lock collar) can be injection-molded in Pantone-matched colors to denote blade type (full radius / serrated / abrader / left-cut / right-cut etc.), with laser marking of Lot No./REF No./Diameter. Manners Technology has in-house injection molding to shorten lead time.
Documentation Package: DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback is provided at project kickoff; production is accompanied by MTR, CoC, full dimensional inspection report, cleaning validation, and microbiological testing (if sterile-provided). This greatly assists brand owners in compiling technical files for 510(k) or NMPA registration.
Recommendation for prospective partners: select 2–3 representative specs (e.g., 5.5mm straight serrated + 4.0mm 15° curved serrated) for pilot samples, have them evaluated by a consulting surgeon for cut feel, suction patency, and durability, then expand to a full line. Manners Technology supports prototype→pilot→mass production as a one-stop OEM platform.
