Intramuscular injection should be performed in areas with abundant muscles, fewer nerves and blood vessels, such as ear root, neck, hip, femoral and waist. The method is to properly preserve the dog, cut the hair and disinfect it locally, tighten the skin of the injection site with the left index finger and thumb, hold the syringe in the right hand, stab the needle vertically into the muscle of the injection site for 1-2 cm, then pull out the piston to check whether there is blood return, and inject the drug solution only when there is no blood return. If blood return is found, the puncture position should be changed to avoid injection of liquid medicine into the blood vessel. After pulling out the needle after injection, apply iodine tincture disinfection, and gently pressure the needle hole. There are abundant blood vessels in the muscle, which are absorbed very quickly after injection, second only to intravenous injection. And because the muscle sensory nerve is less subcutaneous, so the injection pain is lighter, clinical application is more.

Intramuscular injection should be noted: the needle should not be full length into the muscle, so as not to break; Strong stimulant drugs such as calcium chloride and hypertonic saline cannot be injected intramuscular.
