Why perform liver puncture, is it harmful to the body?
Apr 15, 2022
Liver puncture is both a test and a treatment. Liver puncture should be considered when some undiagnosed liver diseases are encountered clinically. If it is suspected that hepatitis is difficult to be diagnosed or needs pathological examination to assist in the classification; long-term low-grade fever cases have been excluded from other patients after a comprehensive examination, but are caused by liver disease; patients with hepatomegaly and/or splenomegaly are unexplained , or those who need to be differentiated from diseases such as hepatic tuberculosis and fatty liver; those with unknown liver damage caused by viral and drug-induced diseases, etc. In addition, liver abscess patients can extract pus through liver puncture, and at the same time inject drugs through a puncture needle, thereby saving some patients from the pain of surgery.
After liver puncture, some patients may experience transient pain in the liver area or at the site of liver puncture, but generally the reaction is mild and does not require treatment, and can be relieved spontaneously within 24 hours. At present, some hospitals have adopted B-ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration, which has the advantages of small damage and accurate positioning, which is especially suitable for determining the nature of intrahepatic space-occupying lesions. Some people think that liver puncture will damage the "vigor", so when the doctor proposes to do liver puncture, the patient is often very nervous and worried, and often feels uncomfortable after surgery. The feeling will disappear quickly, which shows that the mental factor accounts for a large proportion. But when the patient has bleeding tendency or other contraindications, it should be delayed or not done.
Whether patients with liver disease need to do routine B-ultrasound examination B-ultrasound lacks specific diagnosis for viral hepatitis, and only has a certain auxiliary diagnosis.
B-ultrasound examinations are not necessary for patients with clinically diagnosed viral liver disease. Only those who are suspected of early liver cirrhosis, cancer, or difficult to exclude simple liver, gallbladder, pancreas and kidney neoplasms, space-occupying lesions and metastatic cancer, B-ultrasound has a more specific differential diagnosis significance.
