What kinds of anesthesia are there

At present, there are three types of anesthesia: general anesthesia, local anesthesia and intraspinal anesthesia.

General anesthesia is a drug that enters the bloodstream through the airways, veins, muscles or rectum to suppress the central nervous system. It can be characterized by loss of consciousness, loss of pain, skeletal muscle relaxation, and loss of reflexes. Its general anesthesia is mainly divided into: intravenous anesthesia, inhalation anesthesia, intravenous anesthesia.

Local anesthesia is the injection of anesthetic drugs into the nerve trunk, nerve plexus, around the nerve endings, mainly inhibit nerve conduction, make local pain disappear, belongs to the reversible. It won't cause any tissue damage. Local anesthesia can be divided into: surface anesthesia, local infiltration anesthesia and nerve block anesthesia.

Intraspinal anesthesia is an injection of narcotic drugs into the subarachnoid or epidural space to suppress sensory function in the innervated area. Intraspinal anesthesia can be divided into subarachnoid block anesthesia, epidural anesthesia and lumbar epidural anesthesia.
