Bone marrow biopsy:
A bone marrow biopsy, for short, uses a special needle to take a small cylindrical piece of bone marrow about 0.5 to 1 centimeter long for pathological examination. The operation method is exactly the same as that of bone marrow puncture. The material removed maintains the complete bone marrow tissue structure, which can make up for the deficiency of bone marrow puncture.
Bone marrow aspiration:
A bone piercing is a small amount of bone marrow extracted for examination. Bone marrow is filled in the bone marrow cavity and the cancellous mesh of the bone, and there are two kinds of bone marrow, dividend bone marrow and yellow bone marrow. Red bone marrow has hematopoietic function, and yellow bone marrow has a lot of adipose tissue. With age, the red bone marrow in the medullary cavity is gradually replaced by yellow bone marrow. Red bone marrow is retained in the cancellous area of the spinal canal, sternum, ribs, clavicle, scapula, iliac bone, skull, femur and humerus. It is the main hematopoietic organ of the human body. The abnormal quality and quantity of blood cells is an important pathological change of hematologic diseases.
